Men's Tennis Opens HCAC Competition Hosting Manchester Saturday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Rose-Hulman men's tennis team will begin HCAC play hosting Manchester on Saturday, September 28 at 12 PM.

ROSE-HULMAN MEN'S TENNIS NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers enter their first HCAC match of the year after competing in the DePauw Invitational and ITA Regionals earlier this season.
* Owen Reynolds earned HCAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week for his performance at the ITA Regionals in St. Louis, Missouri.
* Reynolds led Rose-Hulman with a record of 4-2 on the weekend advancing to the championship round of the consolation bracket.
* Reynolds fell short in the championship match against Wabash with a final of 7-5, 6-4.
* Rose-Hulman has been picked as the favorite to repeat as HCAC Champions in the HCAC preseason poll receiving 48 points and six first-place votes.
* The Fightin' Engineers ended last season winning their eighth conference regular season and tournament title in program history. 
* The team was defeated in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament by Illinois Tech with a final score of 5-3. 
* The team returns four all-conference honorees from last season including Grant Paradowski, Ervin Perkowski, Owen Reynolds, and Chris Lian.  
* After facing Manchester, the Fightin' Engineers will host the Rose-Hulman Tri-Match facing Earlham and Greenville at 10 AM and 4 PM. 

MANCHESTER NOTES:
* Manchester enters their match against Rose-Hulman with a record of 0-3 so far this season.
* The team comes off a loss to Albion College with a final score of 2-5. 
* The Spartans have been selected to finish seventh in the HCAC Preseason Poll receiving 15 points. 
* After facing Rose-Hulman, Manchester will continue conference play traveling to face Franklin on Saturday, October 5 at 10 AM. 

SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series between both teams with a record of 25-4 against the Spartans. 
* The Fightin' Engineers have won the last 13 matches against Manchester dating back to the 2011-12 season.
* The last time Manchester defeated the Fightin' Engineers was during the 2010-11 season with a final score of 5-4. 
* Rose-Hulman has a record of 6-1 when hosting Manchester.
