TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman women's volleyball team will continue their first home invitational of the season on Saturday, September 7. After defeating Olivet in the opening game of the invitational, Rose-Hulman will face Trine and Greenville on Saturday at 11 AM and 1 PM.
ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman enters Saturday's matches with a record of 3-3 this season.
* The team picked up a win in their home opener against Olivet on Friday night after five sets with a final of 3-2.
*
Hannah Bergfeld recorded a triple-double with 10 kills, 22 assists, and 12 digs.
* The team comes off a competitive loss to Webster on Wednesday night in a five-set match with a score of 3-2.
* The Fightin' Engineers opened their season at the Central/Grinnell Tournament finishing the weekend with a record of 2-2.
* The team picked up wins against Buena Vista with a score of 3-0 and Westminster with a final of 3-1.
* Rose-Hulman finished the Central/Grinnell Tournament dropping two games to Simpson 3-2 and Saint Mary's 3-1.

Desiree Beverley has been the impact maker offensively leading the team with 57 kills and 2.71 kills per set.

Lily Ebright earned her 10th HCAC Defensive Player of the Week Award this week after averaging 7.5 digs per set in the four matches at the Central/Grinnell Tournament.
* Ebright ranks second in NCAA Division III this season with 7.33 digs per set and leads NCAA Division III with 154 total digs so far this year.
*The Fightin' Engineers have been selected to finish fifth in this year's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference preseason poll receiving 46 points.
* Rose-Hulman finished in sixth place in the conference last season with a 15-14 record overall and a 4-5 conference record.
* The squad returns two all-conference players from last year including
Lily Ebright and
Jillian Gregg.
* Ebright has been named the HCAC Defensive Player of the Year in the last two seasons.
* After their home invitational, the team will travel to face Wheaton and Lawrence in the Wheaton Invite on Friday, September 13 at 4 PM CT and 6:30 PM CT.
OLIVET NOTES:
* Olivet enters Saturday's portion of the invitational with a record of 4-2 overall this season after falling to the Fightin' Engineers in a five-set thriller.
* The team has picked up wins against Waynesburg 3-2, Penn State Altoona 3-0, Washington & Jefferson 3-1, and Manchester 3-2.
* Abi Nunez leads the team with 85 kills this season and 4.25 kills per set.
* Jaydn Cary leads the defense with 84 digs this season averaging 4.20 digs per set.
* Olivet has been selected to finish sixth in the MIAA preseason poll receiving 49 points.
* The team finished last season with a record of 12-14 overall and 3-5 in the MIAA.
* After facing Rose-Hulman Friday night, the team will continue the invitational facing Greenville and Trine on Saturday at 11 AM and 1 PM.
GREENVILLE NOTES:
* Greenville enters the weekend with a record of 1-2 overall so far this season.
* The Panthers picked up a win over John Carroll with a final score of 3-2.
* Abby Grohmann leads the team with 32 kills and 2.67 kills per set.
* Grohmann is also the team's defensive standout with 26 digs and 2.17 digs per set.
* Greenville has been selected to win the SLIAC after claiming the regular season and tournament titles last season.
* The Panthers finished the year with a 23-11 overall record and 16-2 record against conference opponents.
* After facing Olivet and Rose-Hulman on Saturday, Greenville will travel to compete in the Viking Classic facing Augustana on Friday, September 13 at 5 PM CT.
TRINE NOTES:
* Trine enters the weekend with an undefeated 4-0 record so far this season.
* The Thunder have earned wins over Northland 3-0, Asbury 3-1, Wooster 3-1, and Earlham 3-0.
* Julia Maggio leads the team this season with 34 kills and 3.09 kills per set.
* Cara Wlodarczyk is the team's defensive standout with 49 digs and 4.08 digs per set.
* The team has been selected to finish fifth in the MIAA preseason poll receiving 35 points.
* Trine finished last season with a record of 11-15 overall and 3-5 in the MIAA.
* After facing Rose-Hulman and Olivet on Saturday, Trine will travel to face Rhodes in the opening round of the Hanover Invitational on Friday, September 13 at 5 PM.
