TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's basketball team will host Transylvania in a battle for the top spot in the HCAC standings on Saturday, January 11 at 1 PM.
ROSE-HULMANÂ NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman stands in a four-way tie for second place in the HCAC with a record of 7-6 overall and 4-2 in the HCAC this season.
* A win over Transylvania would put the Fightin' Engineers in a tie for first place in the conference with an HCAC record of 5-2.
* The team comes off a hard-fought overtime loss to Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday with a final score of 80-71.
* The team has won five of their last six games defeating three conference opponents in that span.

Emma Schipp was named the HCAC Athlete of the Week for her performance against Berea after recording her first career double-double with career-highs of 19 points and 10 rebounds.Â

Jamie Baum has been the star for Rose-Hulman this year, leading the team with 17.2 points per game and 7.6 rebounds per game.
* She is also shooting 40.4% from beyond the arc and totaling 31 steals and 19 blocks, leading the team in all three categories.

Sophia Reese have also been productive scorers, averaging 10.1 and 9.5 points per game.Â

* After hosting Transylvania, Rose-Hulman will continue conference play hosting Hanover on Wednesday, January 15 at 7 PM.Â
TRANSYLVANIA NOTES:
* Transylvania is the top team in the HCAC with a record of 8-5 overall and 5-1 in the conference.Â
* The team has won their last two games defeating Anderson 62-47 and Hanover 73-65.
* Sadie Wurth leads the team with 14.2 points per game with 30 made three-pointers on the season.
* The Pioneers have two other players averaging double figures in scoring including Sierra Kemelgor (12.2) and Riley Flinn (10.5).
* Flinn is the team's top rebounder averaging 8.2 rebounds per game.Â
* Kemelgor leads the team in assists with 42 and steals with 37.
* Transylvania has been selected to finish first in the HCAC preseason poll receiving 72 points and three first-place votes.
* After facing Rose-Hulman, the Pioneers will host Franklin College on Wednesday, January 15 at 7 PM.Â
