TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's basketball came up short in a 71-48 loss to Transylvania on Saturday afternoon.
The Pioneers led 20-11 after the first quarter of action thanks to an 8-0 run in the middle of the period, and they would continue to grow their lead to 18 on the legs of a 16-2 run thanks to hot three point shooting from the outside.

Julia Meyer, the first of the game for Rose-Hulman, with just 41 seconds remaining, helped cut the lead to 34-20 at the halftime break.
The third quarter was all Pioneers, and Transylvania pulled away for the victory.
Jamie Baum led the Fightin' Engineers with 15 points on 7-14 shooting and also led the team with 5 rebounds.
Emma Schipp scored 7 points in the loss with a team-high 5 assists.
Julia Meyer also scored 7 points and added a pair of steals.
With the loss, the Fightin' Engineers fall to 7-7 on the season and 4-3 in the HCAC. The team returns to action on their home floor on Wedneday, January 15 as they host the Hanover College Panthers at 7 PM.
