TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's basketball came up short in a 71-48 loss to Transylvania on Saturday afternoon.

The Pioneers led 20-11 after the first quarter of action thanks to an 8-0 run in the middle of the period, and they would continue to grow their lead to 18 on the legs of a 16-2 run thanks to hot three point shooting from the outside.

A three-point shot by Julia Meyer, the first of the game for Rose-Hulman, with just 41 seconds remaining, helped cut the lead to 34-20 at the halftime break.

The third quarter was all Pioneers, and Transylvania pulled away for the victory.
