Women's Basketball Hosts Hanover in HCAC Action Wednesday Night

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's basketball team will return to action hosting Hanover College on Wednesday, January 15 at 7 PM. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman ranks in a tie for fifth place in the HCAC with a record of 7-7 overall and 4-3 in the HCAC.
* The team comes off a tough loss to Transylvania on Saturday with a final score of 71-48.
* The Fightin' Engineers have won five of their last seven games defeating three conference opponents in that span.
Jamie Baum has been the star for Rose-Hulman this year, leading the team with 17.0 points per game and 7.4 rebounds per game.
* She is also shooting 40% from beyond the arc and totaling 30 steals and 21 blocks, leading the team in all three categories.
* Emma Schipp and Sophia Reese have also been productive scorers, averaging 9.9 and 9.1 points per game. 
* Schipp also ranks second on the team with 6.0 rebounds per game. 
* The Fightin' Engineers were picked to finish sixth in the HCAC preseason coaches poll, receiving 46 poll points. 
Jamie Baum earned 1st-team all-HCAC honors last season.
* After hosting Hanover, Rose-Hulman will continue conference play traveling to take on Franklin on Saturday, January 18 at 1 PM. 

HANOVER NOTES:
* The Hanover Panthers stand in a tie for second place in the HCAC standings with a record of 11-3 overall and 5-2 in the HCAC. 
* The team comes off a win over Earlham College on Saturday with a final score of 75-58.
* The Panthers are led by Grace Bezold averaging 23.0 points per game and 9.8 rebounds per game. 
* Hanover has two other players averaging double figures including Katherine Benter and Sammy Berman with 13.4 and 11.3 points per game. 
* Berman has been a force defensively leading the team with 20 blocks and 45 steals.
* Hanover was selected to finish third in the HCAC standings receiving 69 points and two first-place votes.
* After facing Rose-Hulman, Hanover will hit the road to face Mount St. Joseph University on Saturday, January 18 at 1 PM. 

SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman trails in the all-time series between both teams with a record of 15-35 against the Hanover Panthers.
* The team has lost their last three games against the Panthers dating back to the 2021-22 season.
* Hanover defeated Rose-Hulman in both matchups last year with final scores of 84-54 and 78-73.
* The Fightin' Engineers have a record of 8-13 all-time when hosting the Panthers.
