TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- We are just two weeks away from the 2025 Rose-Hulman men's tennis season which means it is time to break down the men's spring schedules. The full men's schedule can be seen
HERE.
The Rose-Hulman men's tennis team will open their spring season on Saturday, February 1 as they play host to the Illinois Institute of Technology Scarlet Hawks in a rematch of the 2024 NCAA DIII Tournament Opening Round.
The team will host the Olivet Nazarene Tigers for their final tune-up match before their Florida trip on Saturday, February 15. It will be the first-ever meeting between the Fightin' Engineers and the Tigers.
In Orlando, the Fightin' Engineers have five matches on the docket from teams all across the country including Allegheny, Concordia (WI), Cedarville, Saint Mary's (MN), and #23 Kenyon in a scrimmage to close out the trip.
Rose-Hulman returns home on March 15 and March 16 as they host Hanover and Trine in their first matches at the Joy Hulbert Tennis Center this season.
After a pair of matches on the road against Anderson and Marian (IN), the Fightin' Engineers will host the Berea Mountaineers and the Wabash Little Giants on Saturday, March 29 for their first of five consecutive matches on their home courts. The team will then host DePauw on April 2, Principia on April 5 in their senior day match, and Roosevelt on April 9 in their final home match of the season.
Rose-Hulman takes a trip to Chicago, Illinois on April 12 as they play a pair of CCIW foes including Wheaton (IL) and Elmhurst, then they travel to Indianapolis on the following weekend for a pair of matches with the Franklin Grizzlies and the IU-Southeast Grenadiers on April 19. The regular season concludes on April 26 as the Fightin' Engineers travel to Lexington, Kentucky for a battle with the Transylvania Pioneers in a match that could decide the HCAC regular season title.
The HCAC Tournament will commence on Tuesday, April 29 with the opening round games before the teams that finish 3-6 in the conference. The top two teams will earn a bye to the HCAC Semifinals on May 3. The Semifinals and Championship matches will be held in Indianapolis, Indiana at North Central High School on May 3-4.
This season, the Fightin' Engineers play three different teams who participated in the 2024 NCAA DIII NCAA Tournament. Principia dropped their opening round match to North Central (IL) by a score of 5-0. Allegheny advanced to the second round with a 5-0 win over Messiah before falling to Middlebury, and Illinois Tech also reached the second round with a 5-3 win over the Fightin' Engineers before falling to Case Western (5-0).
