Men's Tennis Earns Revenge Over Greenville With Homecoming Win

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman men's tennis team won a competitive match over the Greenville Panthers on Homecoming Weekend with a final score of 4-3. This starts the Fightin' Engineers at 1-0 so far this season.

The last time Rose-Hulman took on the Greenville Panthers was during last year's NCAA Division III National Tournament. During that match, Rose-Hulman suffered a loss to the Panthers that eliminated them and ended their 2024-25 season with a final score of 4-2.

The Fightin' Engineers were able to get their revenge with a big win in their first dual match of the year. The team swept the doubles competition to take the early lead. Tim Eckermann and Chris Lian claimed the win at No. 1 doubles 6-3; Eli McIntyre and Ervin Perkowski defeated their opponents at No. 2 doubles 6-4; and Ephraim Guthrie and Joao Henrique Nossar picked up a win at the No. 3 spot 6-4.

Rose-Hulman won three singles matches to complete the win. Henrique Nossar earned a win at No. 1 singles with a final score of 6-3, 6-4; Perkowski earned a tight win at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 7-6 (-3); and Ephraim Guthrie earned a victory at No. 5 singles 6-4, 7-6 (7-5).

This wraps up the team's fall schedule. Rose-Hulman men's tennis will return to action in the spring, taking on Case Western Reserve on Friday, February 6.
