TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's basketball team welcomes Franklin College to Hulbert Arena on Saturday, January 18, at 3 PM for a big HCAC matchup with the preseason HCAC favorites.

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers stand at 10-6 overall and 7-2 in the HCAC on the season.
* Rose-Hulman ranks second in the conference behind Franklin and Anderson, who are tied for first with conference records of 8-1.
* The Fightin' Engineers were just the fifth team in the last 21 years of the HCAC to start the conference season 7-0, but they have dropped each of their last two games to Hanover and Franklin.
Miles McGowen reached a career milestone in the team's loss to the Panthers recording his 1,000th point as a member of the Fightin' Engineers men's basketball team. He is just the 33rd player in school history to join the 1,000 point club and the first since Craig McGee and John Czarnecki in 2020.
Joey Schmitz leads the team in scoring with 13.2 points per game. He also leads the team with 44 three-pointers made and 30 steals.
Miles McGowen has been another standout averaging close to a double-double with 12.4 points per game and 9.8 rebounds per game.
Kobe Stoudemire also averages double figures in scoring with 11.0 points per game and leads the team in assists with 42.
* The Fightin' Engineers were picked to finish fourth in the HCAC preseason coaches poll, receiving 53 poll points.
Miles McGowen earned 2nd-team all-HCAC honors last season after leading the team with 15.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.
* After hosting Manchester, Rose-Hulman will hit the road to take on the Transylvania Pioneers on Saturday, January 25, at 3 PM.

MANCHESTER NOTES:
* Manchester currently sits in a tie for the bottom spot in the conference with a record of 6-10 overall and 1-8 in the HCAC this season.
* The Spartans have lost their last eight games as they have been ravaged by injuries throughout the season, and they are coming off a 70-65 loss to Transylvania University on Saturday.
* Zach Sawyer leads the team this season with 20.0 points per game and 8.2 rebounds per game, and he is also the team leader with 43 assists, 22 steals, and 8 blocks. However, Sawyer has not appeared in a game since January 4 when he left the game with an injury.
* The Spartans have two other players averaging double figures this season with Logan Willoughby and Bryant Smith at 16.2 and 16.1 points per game. Willoughby, like Sawyer, has also not played in a game since their January 4 loss to Mount St. Joseph.
