TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's basketball team travels to the South side of Indianapolis on Wednesday, January 29, as they get set to battle the Franklin Grizzlies at 7:30 PM.

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers stand at 11-7 overall and 8-3 in the HCAC on the season, and they sit in third place in the HCAC standings, just behind Franklin and Anderson.
* Rose-Hulman became just the fifth team in the last 21 years of the HCAC to start the conference season 7-0.
* The team is coming in following a 1-1 week with a 95-71 win over Manchester and a 70-65 loss to Transylvania.
* The Fightin' Engineers shattered the school record for three-pointers made in a single game with 20 triples in the win over Manchester. The previous record of 15 made three-pointers was set in 2018, and the team's total was just one shy of the all-time HCAC record of 21, set back in 2014 by Defiance College.
Miles McGowen reached a career milestone earlier this season as he became the 33rd player in school history to join the 1,000-point club. He was also the first Fightin' Engineer to reach this milestone since Craig McGee and John Czarnecki in 2020.
Joey Schmitz leads the team in scoring with 13.2 points per game, 50 three-pointers made, and 30 steals in his breakout freshman campaign.
Miles McGowen has been another standout, averaging close to a double-double with 12.2 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game.
Kobe Stoudemire and Daniel Savovic are also averaging double figures this season with 11.4 and 10.0 points per game. Stoudemire is the team leader in assists with 48 as well.
* The Fightin' Engineers were picked to finish fourth in the HCAC preseason coaches poll, receiving 53 poll points.
* After traveling to Franklin, Rose-Hulman will return home this weekend to take on the Berea Mountaineers on Saturday, February 1, at 3 PM.

FRANKLIN NOTES:
* Franklin currently sits in second in the HCAC standings with a record of 13-5 overall and 9-2 in the HCAC.
* The Grizzlies come in following a 96-61 slaughter of Bluffton on Saturday afternoon.
* Franklin is led by Lynn King averaging 11.1 points per game and 7.2 rebounds per game.
* Braden Flanagan (10.5), Jessie Morgan III (10.3), and Cooper Matthews (10.1) join King in scoring in double figures throughout the course of the season.
* Matthews also leads the team with 37 steals and 48 steals.
* Franklin was selected to finish sixth in the HCAC preseason poll receiving 47 points, but they have more than exceeded expectations through this point of the season.
* After hosting Rose-Hulman, Franklin will remain in their home gym to host the Earlham Quakers on Saturday, February 1, at 3 PM.

SERIES HISTORY:
* Franklin leads the all-time series 50-43 over Rose-Hulman, including a 68-61 victory over the Fightin' Engineers just two weeks ago.
* The Grizzlies have only swept the season series with Rose-Hulman once in the past 15 years as they won both games in the 2019-20 season by two points.
* The all-time series is tied 15-15 in games played at Franklin College.
* The Fightin' Engineers won the first-ever meeting with the Grizzlies as they brought home a 27-24 victory back in 1909.
