TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's basketball team will put their undefeated HCAC record on the line hosting Mount St. Joseph University on Wednesday, January 8 at 7:30 PM.
ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman sits atop the HCAC standings with a record of 8-4 overall and 5-0 in the HCAC.
* The Fightin' Engineers have started off hot in conference play taking down Manchester, Bluffton, Anderson, Earlham, and Berea to stand undefeated in the HCAC.
* The team comes off an exciting win over Berea after a buzzer-beater by
Miles McGowen in the final seconds off an offensive rebound to secure the victory 75-73.
*
Joey Schmitz has been named the HCAC Athlete of the Week for his performance against Berea where he totaled 28 points after making eight three-pointers.
* This is the second Athlete of the Week Award for Schmitz this season as he joins teammate
Miles McGowen as the only Fightin' Engineers to win the award multiple times in a season in the last 12 years.
* McGowen leads the team, averaging a double-double with 12.6 points per game and 10.3 rebounds per game. He also ranks second on the team with 29 assists.
* Schmitz has been a standout for the Fightin' Engineers leading the team in scoring with 14.6 points per game, 37 made three-pointers, and 64 made field goals. He also leads the team with 25 steals.

Kobe Stoudemire also averages double figures with 10.3 points per game and totals a team-high 34 assists.
* The Fightin' Engineers were picked to finish fourth in the HCAC preseason coaches poll, receiving 53 poll points.

Miles McGowen earned 2nd-team all-HCAC honors last season after leading the team with 15.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.
* After hosting Mount St. Joseph, Rose-Hulman will continue conference play hosting Transylvania on Saturday, January 11 at 3 PM.
MOUNT ST. JOSEPH NOTES:
* Mount St. Joseph ranks fifth in the HCAC standings with a record of 7-5 overall and 3-2 in the HCAC.
* The team comes off a win over Manchester with a final score of 75-71.
* Luke Collinsworth leads the Lions with 15.4 points per game and 7.8 rebounds per game.
* The Mount has three other players averaging double figures including Matthew Menninger (11.8), Elisha Jones (11.7), and Michael Loftis (10.0).
* Mount St. Joseph was selected to finish eighth in the HCAC preseason poll receiving 26 points.
* After facing Rose-Hulman, the team will travel to face Anderson on Saturday, January 11 at 3 PM.
SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series between both teams with a record of 20-18 against the Lions.
* The Fightin' Engineers split last season falling to the Lions at home 65-62, then defeating Mount St. Joseph on the road 62.46.
