TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's basketball team rode a big second half to a 65-57 victory over Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday night.

Mount St. Joseph came out of the locker room on fire with an 11-0 start resulting in a Rose-Hulman timeout. The Fightin' Engineers answered with a 12-0 run of their own to retake the lead at 12-11.

After a back and forth next 10 minutes, the Lions were able to shut down the Rose-Hulman shooting with a 10-2 run to take a nine point lead, and they would enter the locker room leading 36-29.

Coming out of the break, the Fightin' Engineers pounded the ball inside and rode the back of Miles McGowen's individual 8-0 run to retake the lead. A Simon Blair triple stretched the lead to two possessions, and the team would not look back.

Mount St. Joseph was able to cut the lead to six down the stretch, but they couldn't get any closer as Kobe Stoudemire iced the game, making all four of his free throws in the final minute.

Miles McGowen led the team with 19 points, 13 of which came in the second half, and he also added 7 boards and a pair of assists.

Kobe Stoudemire also finished in double figures with 16, and Daniel Savovic added 12 and a team-high 4 steals in the win.

Simon Blair led the team in rebounding with 8 boards and added 7 in the scoring column.

With the win, Rose-Hulman improves to 9-4 overall and 6-0 in the HCAC. The 6-0 start in conference play in the third longest winning streak to open conference play in program history, just one game shy of the 2012-13 team that started 7-0.
