Football Gears Up for Road Trip to Battle Baldwin Wallace

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Fightin' Engineer's football team will look ahead to take on Baldwin Wallace on the road this Saturday, October 18, at 1:30 PM. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman stands at 1-4 overall and 1-1 in the HCAC this season.
* The team completed an exciting fourth-quarter comeback to defeat the Franklin Grizzlies and win their first game of the season with a score of 35-34.
* Jay Smith led Rose-Hulman with 150 yards rushing and three rushing touchdowns. He also added five receptions for 38 yards and one receiving touchdown.
* Smith scored all three fourth-quarter touchdowns, including the game-winning touchdown reception in the final minute to complete the comeback win.
Jay Smith is the team's leading rusher with 438 yards and five rushing touchdowns.
Adam Yue leads the team under center with 593 yards passing and three passing touchdowns. 
Ben Klein is one of the top options for Rose-Hulman at receiver, totaling 184 yards on 16 catches with one touchdown this year. 
Rudy Griffing leads the defense with 43.0 tackles on the year. 
* He is joined by Gabe Adams, who leads the team with 6.5 tackles for loss, four QB hurries, and 3.5 sacks this season. 
* The Fightin' Engineers have been picked to finish third in the HCAC Preseason Poll, conducted by the league's head coaches. 
* The team earned 26 points in the preseason poll results. 
* Rose-Hulman finished last season in third place in the HCAC after earning an overall record of 5-5 and a conference record of 4-2. 
* The team returns five HCAC All-Conference selections from last year, including Jay SmithBen KleinMarshall KochWyatt Bell, and Antonio Barnes
* The Fightin' Engineers are led by Head Coach Jeff Sokol, who enters his 15th season with Rose-Hulman. Sokol has led Rose-Hulman to three HCAC Titles and two NCAA Playoff appearances in 2016 and 2021. 
* After traveling to face Baldwin Wallace, Rose-Hulman will return home to host Bluffton on Saturday, October 25, at 2 PM for their Tackle Childhood Cancer Game.

BALDWIN WALLACE NOTES:
* Baldwin Wallace stands at 4-1 overall this season and 3-1 in the OAC. 
* The team comes off a win over Otterbein with a final score of 56-14. 
* Charlie Bubonics leads the team at quarterback with 92 completions for 1029 passing yards and 11 touchdowns. 
* George Linberger is the top running back for the Yellow Jackets with 686 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. 
* Tim Conwell leads the team's receiving core with 282 receiving yards and four touchdowns. 
* Xavier Balson also totals over 200 yards receiving with 223 and two receiving touchdowns. 
* Nolan Hartsel leads the team in tackles with 33 this season. 
* Devontae Jackson has been another defensive standout with 25 tackles and a team-high 4.0 tackles for loss and two interceptions. 
* The Yellow Jackets were selected to finish second in the OAC Preseason Polls with 55 points. 
* The team is led by Head Coach Jim Hilvert in his ninth season with Baldwin Wallace.
* After hosting Rose-Hulman, the Yellow Jackets will host Marietta on Saturday, October 25, at 2 PM. 

SERIES HISTORY:
* This will be the first time in program history that the Fightin' Engineers will take on the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets.
