Football Matches Up with Franklin in HCAC Showdown Saturday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- The Fightin' Engineer's football team will continue their conference schedule, traveling to take on Franklin College on Saturday, October 11, at 1:30 PM. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman stands at 0-4 overall and 0-1 in the HCAC so far this season after falling to Hanover on Homecoming Weekend.
Jay Smith is the team's leading rusher with 288 yards and two rushing touchdowns.
Adam Yue leads the team under center with 390 yards passing and one passing touchdown. 
* Ben Klein is one of the top options for Rose-Hulman at receiver, totaling 72 yards on 13 catches this year. 
Rudy Griffing leads the defense with 35.0 tackles on the year. 
* He is joined by Gabe Adams, who leads the team with 4.5 tackles for loss, four QB hurries, and 1.5 sacks this season. 
* The Fightin' Engineers have been picked to finish third in the HCAC Preseason Poll, conducted by the league's head coaches. 
* The team earned 26 points in the preseason poll results. 
* Rose-Hulman finished last season in third place in the HCAC after earning an overall record of 5-5 and a conference record of 4-2. 
* The team returns five HCAC All-Conference selections from last year, including Jay SmithBen KleinMarshall KochWyatt Bell, and Antonio Barnes
* The Fightin' Engineers are led by Head Coach Jeff Sokol, who enters his 15th season with Rose-Hulman. Sokol has led Rose-Hulman to three HCAC Titles and two NCAA Playoff appearances in 2016 and 2021. 
* After taking on Franklin, Rose-Hulman will hit the road to face Baldwin Wallace in their last non-conference game of the season on Saturday, October 18, at 1:30 PM. 

FRANKLIN NOTES:
* The Grizzlies stand at 2-2 overall this season.
* The team comes off an exciting win over Muskingum last week with a final score of 34-33.
* Marshall Kmiecik leads the Grizzlies under center with 1095 passing yards this season and 11 passing touchdowns. 
* Trevor Winkles is the team's leading rusher with 36 carries for 138 yards. 
* Jordan Fonda is the Grizzlie's standout wide receiver, totaling 405 yards and four touchdowns. 
* Brayden Baker leads the defense with 39 tackles this season. 
* Carter Edney is another defensive standout with a team-high 5.5 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks.
* Franklin has been selected to finish fourth in the HCAC Preseason Poll, receiving 19 points. 
* The team is led by Head Coach Mike Leonard in his 18th season with the Grizzlies.
* After hosting Rose-Hulman for their homecoming, Franklin will host Manchester on Saturday, October 18, at 1:30 PM. 

SERIES HISTORY:
* The Fightin' Engineers trail in the all-time series against Franklin with a record of 29-43-2 against the Grizzlies.
* Rose-Hulman has won the last five games against Franklin, dating back to the 2020 season. 
* The Fightin' Engineers defeated Franklin last year with a final score of 24-14. 
* The last time Franklin beat Rose-Hulman was during the 2019 season with a final score of 29-28. 
* Rose-Hulman has an all-time away record of 8-9 when traveling to face Franklin.
