Men's Basketball Starts Season On the Road at Wabash Wednesday Night

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's basketball team will begin their 2025-26 season on the road against Wabash on Wednesday, November 12, at 7 PM. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman has been selected to finish second in the HCAC Preseason Poll, earning 72 points and three first-place votes. 
* Rose-Hulman returns Second Team All-HCAC and HCAC Newcomer of the Year honoree Joey Schmitz for his sophomore season.
* Schmitz led the team last year with 13.8 points per game and 48 steals.
* Schmitz also broke a 34-year-old Rose-Hulman single-season record for three-pointers made with 81.
* Cole Pride, Daniel Savovic, and Kobe Stoudemire have also been named players to watch by the HCAC. 
* The team is led by Head Coach Nick Sales in his fourth season with the Fightin' Engineers. 
* The team finished last season with a 17-10 overall record and a 13-5 record in the HCAC. 
* The team won their opening round game against Mount St. Joseph in the HCAC Tournament with a final score of 69-52. 
* The Fightin' Engineers' season came to an end in the HCAC Semifinal against Franklin in a narrow loss, 66-63. 
* After facing Wabash, Rose-Hulman will travel to take on Illinois Tech on Saturday, November 15, at 1 PM CT, 2 PM ET.

WABASH NOTES:
* Wabash stands at 1-0 overall this season with a win over Hanover in their season opener, 90-61.
* The Little Giants were picked to finish fifth in the NCAC Preseason Poll, receiving 52 points and one first-place vote.
* Josh Whack led the team in their season opener with 20 points and three assists. 
* Luke Ellspermann led the team on the glass with nine rebounds on the night.
* Other double-figure scorers included Gavin Schippert with 13, Deric Cannady with 13, Ellspermann with 11, and Rich Brooks with 10 points. 
* Wabash finished last season with a 17-9 overall record and a 13-3 NCAC record. 
* The team is led by Head Coach Kyle Brumett in his 12th season with the Little Giants.
* After facing Rose-Hulman, Wabash will travel to Franklin on Wednesday, November 19, at 7:30 PM.

SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman trails in the all-time series with a record of 45-76 against the Little Giants. 
* The Fightin' Engineers defeated Wabash last season with a final score of 68-60.
* The last time Wabash beat Rose-Hulman was during the 2023-24 season with a final score of 84-42.
* The Fightin' Engineers have an all-time away record of 10-19 when traveling to face the Little Giants.
