Rose-Hulman Celebrates Senior Day in Loss to Mount St. Joseph

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers wrapped up their regular season with a loss to Mount St. Joseph on Saturday.

The team took the time before the game to recognize their seniors. All 25 seniors were celebrated for their dedication to the Rose-Hulman football program. The team and fans then enjoyed a special performance by Davis Rubel, playing the national anthem on an electric guitar.

Adam Yue led the team at quarterback with 94 yards passing. Alexander Marsteller was the lead back with 38 rushing yards in the contest. Marsteller was also the top receiver with four catches for 28 yards.

The defense was led by Rudy Griffing, who totaled 14 tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss, and 0.5 sacks. William Fleck added 1.0 sack and 1.5 tackles for loss. Wyatt Bell was impressive in coverage with four tackles and three pass breakups.

Rose-Hulman battled hard to hold the Lions scoreless in the first quarter. The defense came up huge on a couple of fourth-down stops in their own territory to keep the Lions off the scoreboard.

MSJ got through the Rose-Hulman defense in the second quarter with a one-yard run to take the 7-0 lead. Mount scored two more times in the second quarter to build a 21-0 lead at the end of the first half.

The Lions continued to control the pace in the second half, building their lead to 48-0 to defeat the Fightin' Engineers.
