ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Rose-Hulman was unable to take down Elmhurst, as the Blue Jays won by a score of 72-51 in the opening game of the WashU Tournament.
Both teams shot 43% from the floor, but Elmhurst was able to convert six more three-pointers while adding eight free throws to Rose-Hulman's three.
Sophomore
Katelyn Fennell scored 12 points, where she shot 6-12 from the floor. She led the Fightin' Engineers with two blocks, while adding three rebounds and two assists.
Sophomore
Julia Meyer also scored 12 points on 6-10 shooting, while recording two steals and one block.
Freshman
Kaia Peterson shot a perfect 4-4 from the floor, scoring eight points. She recorded three rebounds, two assists, three steals, and one block.
Sophomore
Emma Schipp put up six points on 3-6 shooting with a team-high six rebounds and three assists.
Junior Maria Godoy Rodriguez matched Schipp with a team-high three assists. She also thrived on the defensive end, where she led Rose-Hulman with four steals while blocking one shot.
The Fightin' Engineers will take on Benedictine on Saturday, November 15, at 3 PM ET in the third-place game of the WashU Tournament.
