Fightin' Engineers Tip Off Season at MSOE Tournament

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Rose-Hulman will tip off the season at the MSOE Tournament. The Fightin' Engineers will take on Case Western on Friday, November 7, at 8:30 PM ET. They will then face either Claremont MS or Milwaukee School of Engineering on Saturday, November 8, at 4:30 PM ET with a loss or 6:30 PM ET with a win.
 
ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers are coming off a 12-14 season in 2024-25.
* Rose-Hulman recorded a 9-9 HCAC record to clinch a playoff berth.
* The Fightin' Engineers went on a four-game winning streak from December 14 to January 4.
* The team fell to Mt. St. Joseph 72-61 in the opening round of the HCAC Tournament.
* Rose-Hulman returns 12 players and four starters from last season.
* Junior Sophia Reese leads all returners with 9.6 points per game on 37.2% shooting.
* Sophomore Emma Schipp was named to the HCAC Newcomer Team in 2024-25.
* Schipp recorded 8.9 points per game on 37.8% shooting.
* Schipp added 5.7 rebounds per game, and she leads all returners with 2.5 assists per game.
* Senior CK Gallegos Rodriguez scored 8.0 points per game on a team-best 45.9% shooting.
* Gallegos Rodriguez added 5.8 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game.
* Sophomore Katelyn Fennell put up 6.7 points and 3.9 rebounds per game on 36.9% shooting.
* Sophomore Julia Meyer recorded 6.6 points and 2.9 rebounds per game on 36.6% shooting.
 
CASE WESTERN NOTES:
* The Spartans are coming off a 7-18 overall record in 2024-25.
* Case Western went 2-12 in conference play, ending the year on a six-game losing streak.
* Junior Mya Hartjes scored a team-high 12.4 points per game on 36.1% three-point shooting.
* Hartjes added 5.3 rebounds and a team-leading 3.7 assists per game.
* Senior Emily Plachta scored 11.5 points per game on 33.7% shooting from the floor.
* Plachta hauled in 4.9 rebounds per game and added 1.5 steals and 1.1 blocks per game.
* Junior Maura Schorr posted 8.3 points per game on 39.3% shooting.
* Schorr leads all returners with 6.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game.
 
CLAREMONT MS NOTES:
* The Athenas posted a 10-15 overall record, where they went 6-10 in conference play.
* Senior Renee Chong scored a team-high 14.7 points per game on 38.2% shooting from the field.
* Chong added a team-high 2.0 steals per game.
* Senior Katie Resendiz finished second on the team with 12.2 points per game on 43.8% shooting.
* She recorded a team-high 7.3 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game.
 
MILWAUKEE SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING NOTES:
* The Raiders recorded a 15-12 overall mark while going 10-6 in conference play.
* They advanced to the NACC Semifinals, where they lost 54-45 to Wisconsin Lutheran.
* Senior Mahima Chokshi posted a team-high 13.5 points per game on 33.0% three-point shooting.
* She added a team-high 2.8 assists and 2.3 steals per game.
* Sophomore Lana Kerley finished second on the team with 13.3 points per game on 35.9% shooting from beyond the arc.
* Kerley also hauled in a team-high 6.5 rebounds per game.
 
SERIES HISTORY VS. CASE WESTERN:
* This will be Rose-Hulman's second-ever meeting with Case Western.
* The Fightin' Engineers defeated the Spartans 68-60 in 2015.
* Josie Schmidt posted a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds.
* Kristen Belyea scored a team-high 16 points on 6-10 shooting off the bench.
* Cassidy Cain recorded 12 points and dished out eight of Rose's 14 assists in the game.
 
SERIES HISTORY VS. CLAREMONT MS:
* Rose-Hulman could potentially face Claremont MS for the first time in school history.
 
SERIES HISTORY VS. MILWAUKEE SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING:
* The Fightin' Engineers could potentially face MSOE for the second time in school history.
* The Raiders defeated Rose-Hulman 57-43 in 1997.
* Amanda Speich scored a team-high 13 points while adding seven rebounds.
* Holli Krumbein hauled in a team-high ten rebounds while scoring eight points.
