Men's Basketball Falls Short to the DePauw Tigers

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers fell short to the DePauw Tigers with a final score of 78-66. This drops the team to 6-4 overall this season.

Daniel Savovic was the top scorer for the Fightin' Engineers, finishing the game with 12 points on 5-12 shooting. He also finished the game with a team-high six rebounds against the Tigers. Cole Pride and Christian Torres also put up 10 points and six rebounds each in a strong team effort. 

Rose-Hulman got off to a hot start, scoring the first nine points of the game. The team took their largest lead of the day after a made jumper by Savovic made the score 12-2 in the first five minutes. DePauw battled back to take the lead on a made three-pointer to make the score 18-17 with 8:21 left before halftime. 

DePauw extended their lead to 10 points before the halftime break on a fast break layup that made the score 36-26 as the teams headed into the locker rooms. 

The Tigers maintained their lead for the majority of the second half. After being down 68-56, Rose-Hulman put together a 6-0 run to cut the deficit to six points with the score at 68-62 and 4:09 remaining on the clock.

DePauw held off the Fightin' Engineers' comeback attempt in the final minutes to hand them their fourth loss of the season. 

The Fightin' Engineers will return to Hulbert Arena to close out the month of December, hosting Olivet on Tuesday, December 23, at 1 PM.
