Men's Basketball Hosts Bluffton Saturday for Senior Day

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's basketball team will host Bluffton for Senior Day on Saturday, February 15, at 3 PM. The Senior Day ceremony will take place prior to the start of the game. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:

* The Fightin' Engineers stand at 14-9 overall and 11-5 in the HCAC.
* The team currently ranks third in the HCAC standings trailing Franklin at 13-3 and Anderson at 14-2.
* Rose-Hulman comes off a big road win over Mount St. Joseph with a final score of 78-66.
Joey Schmitz leads the team with 13.2 points per game, 64 three-pointers made, and 41 steals in his breakout freshman campaign.
Miles McGowen has been another standout, averaging shy of a double-double with 12.2 points per game and 9.9 rebounds per game.
Kobe Stoudemire is also averaging double figures in scoring with 11.9 points per game and leads the team with 66 assists. 
* Earlier this season, Rose-Hulman became just the fifth team in the last 21 years of the HCAC to start the conference season 7-0.
* Rose-Hulman shattered the school record for three-pointers made in a single game with 20 triples earlier this season in the win over Manchester.
* The previous record of 15 made three-pointers was set in 2018, and the team's total was just one shy of the all-time HCAC record of 21, set back in 2014 by Defiance College.
Miles McGowen reached a career milestone earlier this season as he became the 33rd player in school history to join the 1,000-point club.
* He is the first Fightin' Engineer to reach this milestone since Craig McGee and John Czarnecki in 2020.
* The Fightin' Engineers were picked to finish fourth in the HCAC preseason coaches poll, receiving 53 poll points.
* After hosting Bluffton, Rose-Hulman will host Earlham in their final game of the regular season on Wednesday, February 19 at 7:30 PM. 

BLUFFTON NOTES:

* Bluffton enters the weekend with a record of 6-17 overall and 5-11 in the HCAC.
* The team currently ranks tied for seventh with Berea with a league record of 5-11. 
* The Beavers come off a tight loss to Manchester with a final score of 81-79.
* Nevin Robson leads the team with 16.5 points per game and 6.9 rebounds per game.
* Michael Stammen also averages double figures with 13.9 points per game. 
* Bluffton has been picked to finish ninth in the HCAC preseason poll receiving 24 points. 
* After facing Rose-Hulman, Bluffton will wrap up their regular season on the road facing Anderson on Wednesday, February 19 at 7:30 PM. 

SERIES HISTORY:

* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series between both teams with a record of 24-10 against Bluffton.
* The Fightin' Engineers have won their last nine games against the Beavers dating back to the 2018-19 season.
* Rose-Hulman defeated Bluffton earlier this season with a final score of 65-49.
* The Fightin' Engineers have an all-time record of 12-5 when hosting the Bluffton Beavers.
