TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's basketball team will hit the road to take on Mount St. Joseph in the opening round of the HCAC Tournament on Saturday, February 22, at 4 PM.
ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman wrapped up the season with a record of 12-13 overall and 9-9 in the HCAC.
* The Fightin' Engineers earned the #7 seed in the HCAC Tournament.
* The team finished the regular season with a win over Earlham College with a final score of 69-54.
*
Jamie Baum has been the star for Rose-Hulman this year, leading the team with 16.5 points per game and 7.2 rebounds per game.
* Baum is shooting 34.7% from beyond the arc and leads the team with 54 steals, 39 blocks, and 72 assists.
*
Sophia Reese and
Emma Schipp have been productive scorers for the Fightin' Engineers, averaging 9.4 and 9.1 points per game.
* Schipp also ranks second on the team with 61 assists.
* Earlier this season against Franklin,
Jamie Baum reached a career milestone becoming the 11th player in school history to surpass 1,000 career points.
* Rose-Hulman was picked to finish sixth in the HCAC preseason coaches poll, receiving 46 poll points.
* With a win, the Fightin' Engineers will move on to the semifinal round of the HCAC Tournament hosted by the highest remaining seed. The team's opponent will depend on the outcome of other games.
MOUNT ST. JOSEPH NOTES:
* Mount St. Joseph finished the regular season with a record of 18-7 overall and 13-5 in the HCAC.
* The Lions earned the #2 seed in the HCAC Tournament.
* The team wrapped up their regular season with a win over Berea on Tuesday with a final score of 61-55.
* Anyiah Murphy leads the team with 14.3 points per game and 60 steals.
* Madison Drummonds is another impact maker averaging 12.0 points per game and leading the team with 8.4 rebounds per game.
* Karlee Mills also averaged double figures in scoring with 13.9 points per game.
* MSJ was selected to finish second in the HCAC preseason poll receiving 71 points and four first-place votes.
* With a win, the Lions will move on to the semifinal round of the HCAC Tournament hosted by the highest remaining seed. The team's opponent will depend on the outcome of other games.

* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series with a record of 28-11 against the Lions.
* The Fightin' Engineers fell short in both of their meetings with MSJ this season with final scores of 80-71 in overtime and 68-56.
