Men's Tennis Returns Home to Host Hanover and Trine this Weekend

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman men's tennis team will return home to host Hanover in HCAC action on Saturday, March 15, at 3 PM, and host Trine on Sunday, March 16, at 1 PM. All matches for the weekend have been moved to the Terre Haute Tennis & Pickleball Center to be played inside due to incoming weather. 

ROSE-HULMAN MEN'S TENNIS NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers currently stand at 4-5 overall this season and 2-0 in the HCAC. 
* Rose-Hulman comes off a 2-2 record on their Florida Trip last week against some tough competition. 
* The team picked up wins over Concordia (WI) 6-1 and Saint Mary's (MN) 6-1. 
Owen Reynolds leads the team with 8 singles wins this season thanks to an excellent performance in the ITA Regional Tournament at Washington University in St. Louis. Reynolds advanced to the championship round of the consolation bracket before falling to Wabash College 7-5, 6-4 in the championship match.
Joao Henrique Nossar and Ervin Perkowski also come in with winning records in singles play at 7-4 and 7-3 on the season.
* Chris Lian, Eli McIntyre, and Perkowski all lead the team with six doubles wins each this season. 
Grant Paradowski has broken into the top-10 in career wins ranking ninth with 50 wins in his career. 
* Rose-Hulman was picked as the favorite to repeat as HCAC Champions in the preseason coaches poll, receiving 48 points and six of the seven first-place votes.
* The Fightin' Engineers ended last season winning their eighth conference regular season and tournament title in program history. They advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time where they fell 5-3 to Illinois Tech in the opening round.
* Rose-Hulman brought in five new players to their roster this season from all over the world. The freshman class has players from Virginia (2), Indiana, Germany, and Brazil.
* After facing Hanover and Trine, Rose-Hulman will travel to take on Anderson in HCAC action on Saturday, March 22 at 2 PM. 

HANOVER NOTES:
* The Panthers stand at 5-2 overall this season and 2-0 in the HCAC heading into the weekend. 
* The team comes off two wins during their trip to Florida against Alma 5-2 and University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras 5-2.
* Ilya Gromochenko and Alberto Castillo both lead the team with five singles wins each this season. 
* Gromochenko is the top doubles player for the Panthers with six wins this season.
* After facing Rose-Hulman, the Panthers will host Franklin in HCAC action on Thursday, March 20, at 4 PM. 

HANOVER SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series against Hanover with a record of 25-4 overall this season. 
* The team defeated Hanover in four of their last five matches dating back to the 2020-21 season. 
* The team picked up a win over the Panthers in their last match with a score of 8-1. 
* Rose-Hulman has an undefeated record of 9-0 when hosting Hanover. 

TRINE NOTES:
* Trine enters the weekend with a record of 5-6 overall this season.
* The team comes off a 2-5 record on their spring trip last week with wins over Concordia Moorhead 4-3 and Concordia (WI) 7-0.
* The Thunder will host Manchester on Thursday, March 13 before coming to take on the Fightin' Engineers this weekend.
* Drew Hackney leads the team with a record of 8-3 in singles play this season. 
* Andrew Spirrison is the teams top doubles player with a record of 9-2 overall. 
* After facing Rose-Hulman, Trine will host Albion to start conference play on Wednesday, March 26, at 4 PM. 

TRINE SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series against Trine with a record of 6-4 overall.
* The team defeated the Thunder in their last match during the 2023 season with a final score of 5-4.
* The Fightin' Engineers have a home record of 3-1 when hosting Trine.
