Women's Tennis Hosts Hanover and Trine This Weekend

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman women's tennis team will return home to host Hanover in HCAC action on Saturday, March 15, at 12 PM, and host Trine on Sunday, March 16, at 1 PM. All matches for the weekend have been moved to the Terre Haute Tennis & Pickleball Center to be played inside due to incoming weather. 

ROSE-HULMAN MEN'S TENNIS NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman enters the weekend with a record of 2-8 overall this season.
* The Fightin' Engineers returned from their Florida Trip with a record of 1-3 on the week. 
* The team earned a win over Concordia (WI) in Flordia with a final score of 6-1.
Emerson Donaldson leads the team in wins this season with a 7-5 overall record in singles play.
Nova Gladden has also been a standout in singles competition with a record of 6-5 on the season.
* Donaldson and Gladden both lead the team in doubles play with seven wins each on the year. 
* Camille Clark, Kaitlyn Pfund, and Lia Taylor all total five doubles wins this season. 
* The Fightin' Engineers were selected to finish second in the HCAC preseason poll, tied with Anderson with 39 points. 
* Rose-Hulman brought home a 2nd-place finish in the conference last season after falling to Transylvania in the HCAC Championship match. 
* The Fightin' Engineers brought in nine new players to their roster this season with players from five different states including Indiana (3), Illinois (2), Arizona (2), Wisconsin (1), and Kentucky (1). The team returns just three players from last year's team.
* After facing Hanover and Trine, Rose-Hulman will travel to take on Anderson in HCAC action on Saturday, March 22 at 10 AM. 

HANOVER NOTES:
* Hanover enters the weekend with a record of 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the HCAC this season.
* The team comes off two losses on their trip to Florida against the University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras 7-0 and Alma 6-1.
* Madelyn Santner leads the Panthers with three singles wins this season. 
* The team has four athletes that have recorded three doubles wins on the year including Valerie Doherty, Kassie Green, Melissa Jong De, and Maria Trembach.
* After facing Rose-Hulman, Hanover will host Franklin College on Thursday, March 20, at 4 PM. 

HANOVER SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman trails in the all-time series against Hanover with a record of 11-18 against the Panthers.
* The Fightin' Engineers have won their last two matches against Hanover with scores of 7-2 and 5-4.
* The team has a home record of 2-8 all-time when hosting the Panthers. 

TRINE NOTES:
* Trine stands with a record of 7-1 overall this season.
* The team earned a record of 3-1 on their Florida Trip last week picking up wins over Concordia Moorhead, Concordia Wisconsin, and Wartburg. 
* The team will face Manchester on Wednesday, March 12, at 4 PM before coming to face the Fightin' Engineers. 
* Elina Locane is the team's top singles player with a record of 8-0 this season.
* The team has three more athletes with at least six singles wins on the year. 
* Emilee Bassett and Alexis Maloney lead the Thunder in doubles play with records of 8-0. 
* After facing Rose-Hulman, Trine will host Albion to start conference play on Tuesday, March 25, at 4 PM. 

TRINE SERIES HISTORY:
* Both teams are tied with one win each in the all-time series between Rose-Hulman and Trine women's tennis.
* Rose-Hulman defeated the Thunder during the 2014-15 season with a final score of 5-4. 
* Trine topped the Fightin' Engineers in their last match during the 2022-23 season with a final score of 5-4.
