PENDLETON, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman women's tennis team picked up an exciting conference victory over Anderson University on Saturday with a final score of 4-3. This improves the team to 4-9 overall and 3-0 in the HCAC.
Rose-Hulman earned the doubles point after sweeping the doubles matches to take the early lead. The No. 1 doubles team of
Addie Patterson and
Lia Taylor earned a win 6-3, No. 2 doubles partners
Camille Clark and
Emerson Donaldson won 6-3, and No. 3 doubles competitors
Kaitlyn Pfund and
Nova Gladden claimed a win 7-5.Â
Anderson battled back to earn wins at No. 1, No. 3, and No. 5 singles. Taylor earned a win at No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-0, and Patterson claimed the win at No. 4 singles 6-2, 6-1 to tie the match at 3-3.Â
Julia Burt was the hero for Rose-Hulman earning the win at No. 6 singles with a score of 6-2, 4-6, 6-0 to give the Fightin' Engineers the win over the Ravens.Â
Rose-Hulman will continue conference play hosting Berea on Saturday, March 29, at 10 AM.Â
