TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers women's tennis team extended their winning streak to four straight matches after defeating Principia on Saturday with a final score of 6-1. This advances the team to 7-9 overall this season.
Rose-Hulman took the early lead after winning two of the three doubles matches. The No. 2 doubles team of
Emerson Donaldson and
Camille Clark claimed a win with a score of 6-0. The No. 3 doubles team of
Kaitlyn Pfund and
Nova Gladden also picked up a victory, 6-2.
The Fightin' Engineers finished strong, claiming wins in five of the six singles matches to defeat the Panthers. Donaldson narrowly defeated her opponent at No. 2 singles 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-4). Clark was another standout at No. 3 singles, winning her match 6-0, 6-3.
Addie Patterson rounded out the top three singles performances for Rose-Hulman with a win at No. 4 singles 6-0, 6-0.
The women's tennis team will return to action, traveling ot take on Wheaton and Elmhurst in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 12.
