Men's Tennis Faces Greenville in NCAA Tournament Friday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman men's tennis team will open the NCAA Tournament against Greenville University on Friday, May 9, at 10 AM. 

ROSE-HULMAN MEN'S TENNIS NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers claimed their ninth conference championship in the last 10 years after defeating Anderson in the HCAC Championship match 4-0. 
* The team currently stands at 13-9 overall this season, entering the NCAA Tournament for the second season in a row. 
* The team wrapped up their regular season, claiming the regular season HCAC title and going undefeated in conference play with a record of 7-0. 
Grant Paradowski leads the team with 16 singles wins this season. 
* Paradowski broke a career milestone, becoming just the sixth Fightin' Engineer to surpass 100 career total wins. Paradowski ranks fifth all-time with 110 career total wins. 
Ervin Perkowski is another standout in singles play this year with 14 wins.
Chris Lian and Eli McIntyre are the team's top doubles players with 15 wins each in doubles competition this season. 
* The Fightin' Engineers ended last season in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, falling 5-3 to Illinois Tech.
* The last time Rose-Hulman won in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament was during the 2019 season with a final score of 5-1 over Illinois Tech. 
* The team's only other win in the national tournament came against Wheaton with a score of 5-4 in the 2017 season. 
* With a win over Greenville, Rose-Hulman will face Denison in the second round on Saturday, May 10, at 10 AM. 

GREENVILLE NOTES:
* Greenville enters the tournament with a record of 21-5 overall this season. 
* The Panthers earned the UMAC Championship after defeating Principia with a final score of 4-2. 
* Rafael Rodriguez and Jean Sanabria lead the team in the No. 1 doubles spot.
* Andres Sanchez represents the Panthers in No. 1 singles. 
* With a win, Greenville will advance to face Denison in the second round on Saturday, May 10, at 10 AM. 

GREENVILLE SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series between both teams with a record of 13-10 against the Panthers. 
* The Fightin' Engineers have lost four straight matches against Greenville, dating back to the 2021-22 season. 
* Rose-Hulman faced Greenville earlier this season, falling to the Panthers with a score of 4-3.
