TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman women's soccer team suffered a loss to #24-ranked Illinois Tech on Saturday with a final score of 3-0. This drops the Fightin' Engineers to 1-3-1 overall this season.
The Rose-Hulman defensive front had an impressive performance. The Scarlet Hawks put constant pressure on the net, putting up 10 shots in the first half. Rose-Hulman held IIT scoreless until the 34th minute, when Illinois Tech would connect with the net to take the 1-0 lead before halftime.
The Scarlet Hawks increased their lead with two more goals in the second half to secure the win over the Fightin' Engineers.
Brooke Spurlock represented Rose-Hulman in goal for all 90 minutes.
Camille Clark led the team with two shots in the contest.
The women's soccer team will return to action, hosting Webster on Wednesday, September 17, at 6 PM.
