RICHMOND, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman volleyball team continued their hot start to the season at the Earlham Invite. The team extended their win streak to nine straight victories to remain undefeated on the year. The team earned two sweeps on Saturday over Kenyon and Denison with final scores of 3-0.
The Fightin' Engineers 9-0 start matches the program's best start in school history, when the team went 9-0 to begin the 2010 season.
Rose-Hulman rolled past Kenyon in their first match of the day with set scores of 25-15, 25-15, 25-13.
Greta Carlson led the team with 12 kills in the match. She was followed by
Amaya Harrell with 10 kills and a team-high .500 hitting percentage.
Lily Ebright was the star defensively with 19 digs in the contest.
The Fightin' Engineers faced Denison in the second half of their doubleheader. Rose-Hulman completed the sweep over the Big Red with scores of 25-19, 25-23, 25-16.
Carlson led the team once again with 10 kills. Harrell followed with an impressive eight kills, and
Keira Ohse and
Aurora Schmidt both totaled seven kills in the match.
Ebright recorded a team-high 17 digs, followed by Schmidt, who also reached double figures with 11 digs.
Carlson earned All-Tournament Team for her performance across both matches.
Rose-Hulman will return to action on the road, traveling to face DePauw on Wednesday, September 17, at 7 PM.
