Men's Basketball Travels to Franklin for HCAC Action on Saturday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's basketball team will hit the road to take on Franklin this Saturday, January 17, at 1 PM.

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman stands at the top of the HCAC with a record of 9-6 overall and a HCAC record of 6-2.
* The Fightin' Engineers picked up a big win over Hanover on Wednesday night with a final score of 81-61.
* Rose-Hulman currently stands in a tie for first place in the HCAC standings with Hanover and Anderson, with all teams totaling a 6-2 conference record.
Joey Schmitz currently leads the team with 14.1 points per game and also leads the team in steals with 27.
Christian Torres leads the team on the glass with 8.0 rebounds per game, while also totaling 10.1 points per game this season and an impressive 58.8% field goal percentage.
Evan Gentile has been another difference maker, averaging 10.5 points per game while shooting 40.3% from beyond the arc. 
* The Fightin' Engineers are currently shooting 47.4% as a team and 33.7% from beyond the arc. 
* Rose-Hulman has been selected to finish second in the HCAC Preseason Poll, earning 72 points and three first-place votes. 
* The team returns Second Team All-HCAC and HCAC Newcomer of the Year honoree Joey Schmitz for his sophomore season.
Cole PrideDaniel Savovic, and Kobe Stoudemire have also been named players to watch by the HCAC. 
* The team is led by Head Coach Nick Sales in his fourth season with the Fightin' Engineers. 
* After facing Franklin, Rose-Hulman will continue their conference schedule on the road against Manchester on Wednesday, January 21, at 7:30 PM.

FRANKLIN NOTES:
* Franklin stands at 9-6 overall and 5-3 in the HCAC this season.
* The team currently ranks tied for fourth in the HCAC standings. 
* The Grizzlies are coming off a victory over Transylvania with a final score of 75-66. 
* The team is led by Justin Harrington with 15.0 points per game this season.
* Cooper Matthews has also averaged double figures this season with 14.0 points per game.
* Avery Saunders leads the team on the glass with 5.3 rebounds per game. 
* As a team, the Grizzlies are shooting 42.2% from the field and 32.7% from beyond the arc this year.
* The Grizzlies were selected to finish fifth in the HCAC Preseason Poll, earning 46 points.
* The team is led by Head Coach Chris Hamilton in his fourth season with the Franklin Grizzlies.
