TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's basketball team will host Transylvania on Saturday, January 31, at 3 PM on Hall of Fame Weekend.
ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman stands at 12-7 overall and 9-3 in the HCAC this season.
* The Fightin' Engineers fell short in a competitive contest against Franklin in their last game with a final score of 64-63.
* The team stands tied for first in the conference with Mount St. Joseph University.

Joey Schmitz currently leads the team with 14.1 points per game while shooting 43% from beyond the arc.

Christian Torres leads the team on the glass with 7.1 rebounds per game, while also totaling 9.3 points per game this season and an impressive 57.8% field goal percentage.

Cole Pride has been another difference maker, totaling 12.4 points per game and a team-high 21 blocked shots.

Evan Gentile has been a standout freshman for the squad, averaging 10.4 points per game and shooting 38.6% from beyond the arc.

Daniel Savovic is another effective scorer, averaging 9.8 points per game and totaling 46 assists on the year.

Nate Smith has also made an impact this season, leading the team with 58 assists and 37 steals.
* The Fightin' Engineers are currently shooting 46.5% as a team and 33.7% from beyond the arc.
* Rose-Hulman has been selected to finish second in the HCAC Preseason Poll, earning 72 points and three first-place votes.
* The team is led by Head Coach
Nick Sales in his fourth season with the Fightin' Engineers.
* After hosting Transylvania, Rose-Hulman will hit the road to take on Hanover on Wednesday, February 4, at 7:30 PM.
TRANSYLVANIA NOTES:
* Transylvania has a record of 11-8 overall and 8-4 in the HCAC.
* The team has won four straight games, most recently defeating Berea with a score of 73-64.
* The Pioneers stand tied for third in the conference with Franklin and Anderson in the HCAC standings.
* The team is led by Hunter Barr with 18.6 points and 8.3 rebounds per game this season.
* Drew Marshall is another standout, averaging 13.7 points and 8.0 rebounds per game.
