TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers suffered a loss to the Transylvania Pioneers on Saturday with a final score of 61-48. This drops the team to 12-8 overall and 9-4 in the HCAC.
Cole Pride was the leading scorer with 14 points, shooting 6-11 while also recording a team-high three steals.
Christian Torres led the team on the glass with nine rebounds on the day.
The score remained close with both teams trading the lead. The Fightin' Engineers trailed 11-10 with 13:58 remaining in the first half. Rose-Hulman then put together a 10-2 run to build their largest lead of the game at 20-13 on a made three-pointer by Pride. The team finished the half with a three-point lead with the score at 25-22.
The second half remained close. Both teams stood tied at 46-46 with 7:32 left in the game. Transylvania finished the game strong, going on a 15-2 run in the final seven minutes to end the game and defeat the Fightin' Engineers with a score of 61-48.
The Rose-Hulman men's basketball team will return to action on the road against Hanover on Wednesday, February 4, at 7:30 PM.
