VALPARAISO, Ind. – The Fightin' Engineers were unable to overpower Valparaiso, as the Beacons won by a score of 162-37.
Ritu Bharamaraddi had a great showing in the 100-yard backstroke as she recorded a second-place finish with a time of 1:04.00.
Janey Leiker,
Lilian Mahonski,
Olivia Boner, and
Avery Witt also achieved a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay, completing the race in 1:46.36.
Witt would also thrive in her solo events, as she recorded third-place finishes in both the 200 individual medley (2:22.61) and 500-yard freestyle (5:37.51).
Leiker added a third-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (26.02), and Mahonski earned a third-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke (1:05.67).
Rose-Hulman will look to bounce back tomorrow against Illinois Wesleyan. The meet will be held in Bloomington, Ill., on Saturday, January 10 at 2 PM.
