HOLLAND, Mich. -- The Rose-Hulman men's tennis team started their weekend with a loss to Roosevelt with a final score of 5-2. The loss drops the Fightin' Engineers to 1-3 overall this season.
Rose-Hulman started the match by winning the doubles point. The No. 2 team of
Eli McIntyre and
Ervin Perkowski earned a victory with a score of 6-3. The No. 3 doubles team of
Matthew Hydrick and
Joao Henrique Nossar secured the doubles point with a win, finishing with a score of 7-5.
Roosevelt bounced back to win five of the six singles matches to defeat the Fightin' Engineers.
Ephraim Guthrie was the lone winner in the singles competitions, picking up a victory at No. 5 singles with scores of 5-7, 6-0, 1-0 (10-6).
The men's tennis team will return to action tomorrow, facing Hope College at 8 AM.
