Men's Basketball Wraps Up Regular Season on the Road Against Earlham Tuesday Night

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's basketball team will finish up the regular season on the road against Earlham on Tuesday, February 17, at 7:30 PM.

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman stands at 15-9 overall and 12-5 in the HCAC this season. 
* The team ranks third in the HCAC standings, clinching their spot in the top four, which means they will host their opening game of the HCAC Tournament. 
* The Fightin' Engineers come off a convincing win over Bluffton with a final score of 83-58.
Joey Schmitz currently leads the team with 14.1 points per game while shooting 42.5% from beyond the arc.
Christian Torres leads the team on the glass with 7.0 rebounds per game, while also totaling 8.6 points per game this season.
Cole Pride has been another difference maker, totaling 12.8 points per game and a team-high 23 blocked shots.
Evan Gentile has been a standout freshman for the squad, averaging 10.8 points per game and shooting 40% from beyond the arc. 
Daniel Savovic is another effective scorer, averaging 10.2 points per game and totaling 57 assists on the year. 
Nate Smith has also made an impact this season as a freshman, leading the team with 71 assists and 42 steals.
* Rose-Hulman has been selected to finish second in the HCAC Preseason Poll, earning 72 points and three first-place votes. 
* The team is led by Head Coach Nick Sales in his fourth season with the Fightin' Engineers. 
* After facing Earlham in the final game of the regular season, the Fightin' Engineers will host the HCAC Quarterfinal on Saturday, February 21, at 2 PM. Their opponent will be decided based on the final standings after Wednesday night's games. 

EARLHAM NOTES:
* Earlham stands at 2-22 overall and 1-16 in the HCAC this season. 
* The team is at the bottom of the HCAC standings, ranking 10th out of 10 teams. 
* The Quakers have lost their last three games, most recently falling to Manchester with a final score of 77-70. 
* Bud Davis leads the team with 14.0 points per game this season and 62 assists. 
* Tommy Reddick is another effective scorer with 9.9 points per game. 
* Connor Smith leads the team on the glass, averaging 4.7 rebounds per game. 
* The team was picked to finish 10th in the HCAC Preseason Poll, earning 10 points. 
* Earlham is led by Head Coach Isaiah Cavaco in his first season with the team. 

EARLHAM SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series between both teams with a record of 72-55 against the Quakers. 
* The Fightin' Engineers have won eight straight games against Earlham dating back to the 2021-22 season. 
* Rose defeated Earlham earlier this season with a score of 79-71. 
* The last time the Quakers defeated the Fightin' Engineers was during the 2021-22 season with a final score of 66-59.
* Rose has an all-time away record of 21-10 when traveling to face Earlham.
