CARMEL, Ind. -- The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced its weekly award winners for the sport of men's tennis. Ephraim Guthrie has been named the HCAC Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week for his performance this past weekend. 

Guthrie had a strong performance across the Fightin' Engineers' two losses against Roosevelt and Hope. The mechanical engineering major finished the week at 2-0 in singles competition. Against Roosevelt, he defeated his opponent at No. 5 singles with scores of 5-7, 6-0, 1-0 (10-6). Against Hope, he took down his foe at No. 4 singles in another tiebreaker with scores of 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-3).

This is the second HCAC Athlete of the Week honor for the Reston, Virginia native in his college career with the Fightin' Engineers. 

Rose-Hulman men's tennis will return to action on their Florida Trip, with four matches in the first week of March. The team will open the week with a match against Concordia Wisconsin on Monday, March 2.
