Men's Basketball Hosts MSJ in Pivotal Matchup Wednesday Night

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's basketball team will host Mount St. Joseph in their final home game of the regular season on Wednesday, February 11, at 7:30 PM for Campers Day and Veterans Day.

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* Rose-Hulman stands at 13-9 overall and 10-5 in the HCAC this season. 
* The team stands in fourth place in the HCAC standings, one game behind the first-place teams of Anderson, Transylvania, and Mount St. Joseph.
* The Fightin' Engineers come off a close loss to Anderson with a final score of 78-70.
Joey Schmitz currently leads the team with 13.8 points per game while shooting 40.3% from beyond the arc.
Christian Torres leads the team on the glass with 7.1 rebounds per game, while also totaling 9.0 points per game this season and an impressive 54.9% field goal percentage.
Cole Pride has been another difference maker, totaling 12.9 points per game and a team-high 22 blocked shots.
Evan Gentile has been a standout freshman for the squad, averaging 10.3 points per game and shooting 36.8% from beyond the arc. 
Daniel Savovic is another effective scorer, averaging 10.5 points per game and totaling 53 assists on the year. 
Nate Smith has also made an impact this season as a freshman, leading the team with 67 assists and 40 steals.
* The Fightin' Engineers are currently shooting 46% as a team and 32.3% from beyond the arc. 
* Rose-Hulman has been selected to finish second in the HCAC Preseason Poll, earning 72 points and three first-place votes. 
* The team is led by Head Coach Nick Sales in his fourth season with the Fightin' Engineers. 
* After hosting MSJ, Rose-Hulman will hit the road to take on Bluffton on Saturday, February 14, at 1 PM. 

MOUNT ST. JOSEPH NOTES:
* Mount St. Joseph stands at 13-9 overall and 11-4 in the HCAC this season. 
* The team is currently tied for first in the conference with Anderson and Transylvania. 
* The Lions have won two in a row, defeating Franklin, 69-65, and Earlham, 62-59.
* Collin Buck is the team's top scorer with 13.8 points per game and 4.0 rebounds per game. 
* Cooper Ollis leads the team on the glass with 5.4 rebounds per game, while also averaging 11.2 points per game.
* Other double-figure scorers include Jason Lavender with 10.9, Joe Brand with 10.9, and Matthew Menninger with 10.0 points per game.
* As a team, MSJ is shooting 45.6% from the floor and 37.7% from beyond the arc. 
* MSJ was picked to finish sixth in the HCAC Preseason Poll, earning 43 points. 
* The team is led by Head Coach Toby Carrigan in his 15th season with the Lions.
* After facing Rose-Hulman, MSJ will host Transylvania on Saturday, February 14, at 3 PM. 

MOUNT ST. JOSEPH SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series between both teams with a record of 23-19 overall against the Lions.
* The Fightin' Engineers fell short to MSJ earlier this season with a final score of 62-58.
