TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Sophomore
Tim Eckermann has hauled in the HCAC Player of the Week Award for the first time in his career.
During Rose-Hulman's Florida trip, Eckerman posted records of 3-1 at No. 3 Singles and 3-1 at No. 1 Doubles.
The Munich, Germany native opened the week with a 6-2, 6-3 win in singles, and a 6-3 win in doubles against Concordia Wisconsin.
Eckermann played a key role in Rose-Hulman's 4-3 victory over Allegheny. He won his singles match with set scores of 6-4 and 6-3, while also achieving a 7-5 win in doubles.
The Fightin' Engineers concluded the week with a dominant 7-0 victory against Wartburg. In the match, Eckermann posted his largest margins of victory as he won his sets by scores of 6-0 and 6-1 in singles, and 6-2 in doubles.
The mechanical engineering major will look to continue his success in Rose-Hulman's first conference match. The Fightin' Engineers will go up against Berea on the road on Saturday, March 14, at 2 PM.
