Women's Tennis Gets Set For Weekend Doubleheader

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers women's tennis team will compete this weekend, traveling to face Trine on Saturday, March 21, at 11 AM, and hosting Franklin on Sunday, March 22, at 11 AM. 

ROSE-HULMAN NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers stand at 4-6 overall this season.
* Rose comes of a win in their HCAC opener over Berea with a final score of 7-0.
* Emerson Donaldson leads the team with six singles wins this season.
* Nova Gladden and Kaitlyn Pfund, along with Donaldson and Gladden, have been the most successful doubles teams with three wins each. 
* Rose-Hulman was picked to finish second in the HCAC Preseason Poll, receiving 40 points and two first-place votes. 
* The team returns First Team All-HCAC honorees Lia Taylor and Emerson Donaldson from last year's team.
Lia Taylor was also awarded the HCAC Newcomer of the Year last season. 
Addie PattersonNova Gladden, and Camille Clark all earned All-HCAC Honorable Mention last year for their efforts. 
* The team is led by Head Coach Matt Wilson in his third season at the helm of the tennis program. 
* After competing this weekend against Trine and Franklin, Rose-Hulman will travel to take on Principia on Saturday, March 28, at 12 PM. 

TRINE NOTES:
* Trine enters the weekend with a record of 11-1 overall this season. 
* The team is on a five-match winning streak, earning their most recent win over Manchester with a score of 7-0.
* Elina Locane represents the team in No. 1 singles this season.
* Locane pairs with Alexis Maloney as the top doubles team for the Thunder.
* The team is led by Head Coach Erin Kolar in her 11th season with the Thunder.
* After hosting Rose-Hulman, Trine will host Adrian in MIAA action on Saturday, March 28, at 2 PM. 

TRINE SERIES HISTORY:
* The Fightin' Engineers trail in the all-time series against Trine with a record of 1-2 against the Thunder.
* Rose has dropped their last two matches against Trine with final scores of 4-3 and 5-4. 
* The last time Rose-Hulman beat the Thunder was during the 2014-15 season with a final score of 5-4. 

FRANKLIN NOTES:
* Franklin enters the weekend with a record of 8-7 overall this season and 1-0 record in the HCAC.
* The Grizzlies will take on Anderson in HCAC play on Saturday, March 21, before traveling to take on Rose-Hulman. 
* Franklin comes off a win over Hanover in their HCAC opener with a final score of 4-3. 
* Ailyn Hendricks leads the team at No. 1 singles this season.
* Hendricks and Eleanor Stillabower have been the top doubles team for the Grizzlies. 
* Franklin has been selected to finish sixth in the HCAC Preseason Poll, earning 20 points. 
* The team is led by Head Coach Ryan Hammer in his second season with the women's tennis team.
* After facing Rose-Hulman, the Grizzlies will hit the road to face Berea on Thursday, March 26, at 6 PM. 

FRANKLIN SERIES HISTORY:
* Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series between both teams with a record of 22-21 against the Grizzlies. 
* The Fightin' Engineers have won their last eight matches against Franklin, dating back to the 2019-20 season. 
* Rose defeated Franklin last year in a shutout victory with a final score of 7-0.
