TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman men's tennis team suffered a close loss to the Wabash Little Giants on Sunday with a final score of 4-3. The loss drops the Fightin' Engineers to 8-7 overall this season.
Rose-Hulman fell short in the doubles competition. The No. 1 team of
Chris Lian and
Tim Eckermann earned a victory with a final score of 7-5.
The team bounced back in singles play, winning three of the six singles matches. Eckermann earned a win at the No. 1 spot, 6-0, 6-3.
Ervin Perkowski won his match at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-3. The final singles winner was
Ephraim Guthrie at No. 3 singles, defeating his opponent 6-4, 4-6, 6-1.
The Fightin' Engineers will return to action this Saturday, April 4, hosting Transylvania in HCAC play at 2 PM.
