TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman men's tennis team defeated Transylvania in HCAC action on Saturday with a final score of 5-2. The win improves the team to 9-7 overall and keeps them undefeated at 3-0 in the conference.
Transylvania jumped in front after winning the doubles point. The No. 1 doubles team for the Fightin' Engineers, consisting of
Tim Eckermann and
Chris Lian, earned a win with a score of 6-3.
Rose-Hulman bounced back in singles play, winning five of the six singles matches to defeat the Pioneers. Eckermann earned a win at the No. 1 spot with a score of 6-4, 7-6 (12-10).
Joao Henrique Nossar earned a win at No. 2 singles with scores of 6-1, 6-3.
Ephraim Guthrie rounded out the top three singles players with a win at No. 4 singles with scores of 6-4, 6-2.
The Fightin' Engineers men's tennis team will return to action on the road against Earlham on Saturday, April 11, at 2 PM.
