ORLANDO, Fla. – Rose-Hulman concluded their Florida trip in dominant fashion as they took down the Wartburg Knights by a score of 7-0.
The Fightin' Engineers swept all three doubles matches, with
Tim Eckermann and
Chris Lian securing the win at No. 1 doubles (6-2),
Eli McIntyre and
Ervin Perkowski winning No. 2 doubles (6-3), and
Andrew Leonard and
Ephraim Guthrie achieving the win at No. 3 doubles (6-2).
Perkowski added another win at No. 1 singles with scores of 6-4 and 6-2.
Joao Henrique Nossar picked up the victory at No. 2 singles in three sets. He dropped the first set by a score of 6-3, but came back to win set two 6-0 and set three 10-5.
Tim Eckermann recorded the largest margin of victory at No. 3 singles with scores of 6-0 and 6-1.
Emphraim Guthrie added his second win of the day at No. 4 singles with scores of 6-4 and 6-1.
Eli McIntyre would also drop his first set by a score of 6-4 at No. 5 singles. He would respond with a 6-1 victory in set two and a 12-10 win in set three.
Matthew Hydrick rounded out Rose-Hulman's unbeaten day with scores of 6-1 and 6-2 at No. 6 singles.
Rose-Hulman will play their first conference match-up of the season as they face the Berea Mountaineers on Saturday, March 14, at 2 PM.
