RICHMOND, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman women's tennis team earned an exciting comeback victory over the Earlham Quakers with a final score of 4-3. This advances the team to 8-8 overall and 3-1 in the HCAC.
The Fightin' Engineers fell behind early in the match. The team lost the doubles point after losing at No. 1 and 2 doubles. The No. 3 doubles team of
Emerson Donaldson and
Kaitlyn Pfund earned the lone doubles win with a score of 7-6 (7-4).
Rose-Hulman then fell behind 3-0, losing at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. The team then mounted a comeback, winning their next three singles matches to tie the score at 3-3.
Paige Mills won at No. 3 singles with scores of 3-6, 6-1, 6-1.
Camille Clark picked up a victory at No. 4 singles, 7-5, 6-4.
Autumn Korey claimed the win at No. 5 singles to tie the match with scores of 6-4, 6-0.
The match came down to the No. 6 singles competition.
Julia Burt was the hero, earning a victory after an intense match with scores of 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.
The women's tennis team will return home to host Anderson University on Saturday, April 18, at 10 AM.
