TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Sophomore
Tim Eckermann has been awarded HCAC Athlete of the Week for the third time this season.
Eckermann helped Rose-Hulman clinch the #1-seed in the HCAC Tournament as the Fightin' Engineers took down both Hanover and Manchester by scores of 7-0.
The Munich, Germany native posted a perfect 4-0 record, winning both his matches at No. 1 Singles and No. 1 Doubles.
Eckermann recorded a 7-5, 2-6, 7-6 (7-3) singles win against Hanover and a 6-0, 6-1 win against Manchester. The mechanical engineering major earned both his doubles wins alongside
Chris Lian by scores of 6-3 against Hanover and 6-0 against Manchester.
The reigning All-HCAC First Team selection will look to win his second conference title at the HCAC Tournament. Rose-Hulman will face the winner of #4 Earlham and #5 Hanover in the HCAC Semifinals on Saturday, May 2, at 4 PM.
