Women's Tennis Gears Up for HCAC Tournament this Weekend

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman women's tennis team will take on Transylvania in the HCAC Championship on Sunday, May 3.

ROSE-HULMAN WOMEN'S NOTES:
* The Fightin' Engineers earned the #2 seed in the HCAC Tournament after finishing the regular season with an overall record of 11-8 and a conference record of 6-1.
* The team has won their last five matches against Greenville, Earlham, Anderson, Hanover, and Manchester.
Autumn Korey and Emerson Donaldson lead the team with 11 singles wins each this season. 
Paige Mills follows them with 10 singles wins this year.
Nova Gladden is the team's top doubles player with 14 wins in doubles competition.
* Donaldson follows her with 12 doubles wins this year. 
* The best doubles duo for the Fightin' Engineers this season is Gladden and Donaldson with a record of 10-2. 
* The team is led by Head Coach Matt Wilson in his third season at the helm of the tennis program. 
* The winner of the HCAC Semifinal will advance to the HCAC Championship Match on Sunday, May 3. 

TRANSYLVANIA WOMEN'S NOTES:
* Transylvania earned the top seed in the HCAC Tournament after winning the regular season title with a record of 11-4 overall and 7-0 in the HCAC. 
* The team has won seven straight matches to end the regular season.
* Paulina Razo-Zapata leads the team at No. 1 singles.
* Razo-Zapata and Maria Hayes represent the team at No. 1 doubles.
* Rose-Hulman fell short to the Pioneers during the regular season with a final score of 5-2.
* The team is led by Head Coach Bill Carey.

HANOVER WOMEN'S NOTES:
* Hanover earned the #3 seed in the HCAC Tournament and stands at 8-7 overall and 4-3 in the HCAC. 
* The team picked up a win in the HCAC Quarterfinal against Franklin with a final score of 6-1 to advance to the HCAC Semifinal.
* Annamarie Stogsdill leads the team at No. 1 singles this season.
* Stogsdill and Hailey Vandeventer are the Panthers' top doubles team, competing at the No. 1 spot.
* Rose-Hulman defeated Hanover during the regular season in a competitive match with a final score of 4-3.
* The team is led by Head Coach Eric LaRue.

EARLHAM WOMEN'S NOTES:
* Earlham earned the #4 seed in the HCAC Tournament and now stands at 13-5 overall and 4-3 in the HCAC. 
* The team defeated Anderson in the quarterfinal round to advance to the semifinals. 
* Vanessa Akuaku leads the team in the No. 1 singles spot. 
* Natalee McCann and Paige Hobbs have represented the team at No. 1 doubles this season.
* Rose-Hulman defeated Earlham in the regular season with a close score of 4-3. 
* The team is led by Head Coach Jacob Freeland.

#6 Franklin at #3 Hanover - #3 Hanover wins 6-1
#5 Anderson at #4 Earlham - #4 Earlham wins 5-2

Saturday, May 2 - Semifinals - Community Sports and Wellness Center - Pendleton, Indiana
#1 Transylvania vs. #4 Earlham - #1 Transylvania wins 4-3
#2 Rose-Hulman vs. #3 Hanover - #2 Rose-Hulman wins 4-3

Sunday, May 3 - Championship - Indianapolis North Central High School
