TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced its weekly award winners for the sport of men's track & field. Rose-Hulman thrower Grant Subbert has been named the HCAC Throws Athlete of the Week for his performance last week. 

Subbert led the throwers for Rose-Hulman at the Sycamore Open hosted by Indiana State. The sophomore mathematics major placed third in the hammer throw with a mark of 53.72 meters (176' 3"). The Hampton, Iowa native's mark ranks second in the conference this season and ranks third in the Rose-Hulman school record book.

This is the first HCAC Throws Athlete of the Week award for Subbert in his college career with the Fightin' Engineers. 

Rose-Hulman men's track & field will return to action on the road in the Augustana Midwest Twilight Qualifier on Wednesday, May 13, and Thursday, May 14.
