PENDLETON, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman men's tennis team defeated Earlham in the HCAC Semifinal with a final score of 4-0 to advance to the HCAC Championship. The team now stands at 14-7 overall this season.
The team secured the doubles point at the start of the match to take the lead over the Quakers.
Tim Eckermann and
Chris Lian picked up the victory in the No. 1 spot, 6-2.
Joao Henrique Nossar and Ephriam Guthrie represented Rose with a win at No. 3 doubles with a score of 6-3 to solidify the doubles point.
Yuki Usuda made quick work of his opponent at No. 6 singles with scores of 6-2, 6-1. Eckermann claimed a dominant victory over his opponent at No. 2 singles with a score of 6-3, 6-1.
Guthrie earned the deciding point at No. 4 singles, winning his match with scores of 6-4, 7-5.
The Fightin' Engineers men's tennis team will take on Anderson in the HCAC Championship on Sunday, May 3, at 1:30 PM.
