KOKOMO, Ind. – The Fightin' Engineers were unable to win both of their games on day one of the HCAC Tournament, as the Transylvania Pioneers took down RHIT by a score of 11-1 in seven innings.
Issei Takahashi,
Connor O'Connell, and
Michael Hines each recorded hits for the Fightin' Engineers. O'Connell and Hines each singled in the fifth inning, before O'Connell would score on an RBI from
Sam Erickson.
Takahashi added a double out to left center field during the opening at bat of the sixth inning.
Liam Richardson struck out seven batters over the first 4.2 innings of the game. He recorded at least one strikeout in all five innings he appeared in, while striking out consecutive batters to close out the first.
Rose-Hulman will take on Anderson in a win or go home game, tomorrow, Friday, May 8 at approximately 1:15 PM.
