TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Rose-Hulman athletic department will be featuring multiple student-athletes across all of their varsity sports teams this summer in the Fightin' Engineers to Watch media campaign.
Football's Fightin' Engineer to Watch is defensive back

Bell had a standout junior season where he was named to the All-HCAC Second Team and the D3football.com All-Region Third Team. He started in all ten games on the season, totaling 58 tackles with 34 solo tackles. Bell led the entire HCAC with 11 pass breakups, while ranking fourth in the conference with three interceptions. He recorded a season-high 12 tackles against Trine, while also intercepting a pass, which he returned 60 yards for a touchdown.
Bell is very excited about the group of athletes returning to the football team for this upcoming season, and he is excited to see what the younger guys on the team can bring to the table. "Looking ahead to next season, I am excited to help our program continue moving in the right direction, improve our record, and as always, compete for an HCAC Championship," said Bell. "At the same time, it is a little bittersweet knowing this will be the final football season of my career. I have been playing organized football since third grade, so while I will be sad to see it go, I will also look forward to any opportunities that I may have in the future helping coach other athletes on the side."
The River Falls, Wisconsin native has recorded three career pick-sixes, which are the most in Rose-Hulman history, and he ranks fourth with 29 career pass breakups. Bell has also thrived in the classroom, being named to the CSC Academic All-District Team in both the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
Bell is pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering, and he is spending the summer completing a Coffee Appliance Engineering Internship with Keurig Dr Pepper at an engineering center in Benton Harbor, Michigan. "I work with the Keurig side of the company on a variety of projects involving coffee brewers," said Bell. "My work includes running experiments to verify temperatures, pressures, and other performance variables, while designing and testing parts and solutions to address issues that arise during development. Alongside his internship, Bell and a few of his teammates lead virtual position group meetings. "We review workouts, discuss drills, and go over our installs before the season starts. This has been a great way to stay connected with my teammates while making sure everyone is preparing for the fall."
During his time as a student-athlete, Bell is appreciative of the opportunity to meet so many people with similar interests and experiences. "Some of my closest friends have come through football, and the relationships I have built with my teammates have led to a lot of great memories and experiences," said Bell. "When I was an underclassman, it was incredibly helpful to have upperclassmen offering me advice. Now that I am one of the older guys on the team, it is very rewarding to be on the other side of that experience, whether it is about academics, football, or life at Rose-Hulman in general."
The Fightin' Engineers will kick off the 2026 season at home against DePauw on Saturday, September 5 at 7 PM.
