TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman star defensive end William Fleck has received national recognition for his performance against Kalamazoo this past weekend. Fleck has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week. 

Fleck had an exceptional individual performance in Rose-Hulman's road victory over Kalamazoo with a score of 27-7. The junior mechanical engineering major tied the school record for most sacks in a single game with 5.0. This is the most sacks in a single game since Mike Riley recorded 5.0 sacks in a win over Defiance in 2017. Fleck finished the game with seven tackles and a forced fumble.

Two of his sacks came in the fourth quarter, when Kalamazoo was driving to get back into the game. Fleck recorded back-to-back sacks on third and fourth down to turn the ball over on downs and protect the lead. Fleck now leads all of NCAA Division III with six sacks this season. 

Fleck also earned HCAC Defensive Player of the Week for his outstanding performance. This is the first D3football.com Team of the Week honor for Fleck in his Rose-Hulman career. 

The Fightin' Engineers will return home to host Albion on Saturday, September 14, at 1 PM.
