GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The Rose-Hulman men's tennis team took down Greenville on the road Saturday night with a final score of 4-3.
The Fightin' Engineers secured the doubles point by winning two of the three matches. The No. 1 team of
Tim Eckermann and
Chris Lian picked up a win in a tight battle with a score of 7-6 (7-4).
Eli McIntyre and
Ervin Perkowski teamed up in the No. 2 spot, earning a win with a score of 6-3.
Rose-Hulman won three of the six singles matches to defeat the Panthers.
Joao Henrique Nossar claimed a win at No. 1 singles, 7-5, 7-5. Perkowski defeated his opponent at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 6-4.
Ephraim Guthrie was the deciding point for the Fightin' Engineers in a third-set tiebreaker at No. 4 singles with set scores of 6-2, 5-7, and 1-0 (10-5).
The Rose-Hulman men's tennis team will return to action, traveling to ITA Regionals from Friday, October 2 to Sunday, October 4.Â
