BEREA, Ky. -- The Rose-Hulman men's soccer team earned a 2-0 shutout win over the Berea Mountaineers on Saturday to improve to 3-3-3 overall and 1-0 in the HCAC.
Rose-Hulman was led by
Greyson Hovermale with an astonishing performance. Hovermale earned a brace with two goals in the contest. These are the first two goals of his college career with the Fightin' Engineers.
His first goal came in the 38th minute of the first half to give the team the lead before the halftime break.
Hovermale sealed the victory with another goal in the second half during the 50th minute on an assist by
Benjamin Murphy to solidify the Fightin' Engineers' lead. Hovermale finished the game with a team-high three shots on goal.
Joshua Echegoyen also made an impact with two shots, while
Alex Gilmore,
Oliver Fila, and
Cameron Hannah recorded one shot each.
Justin Burns represented Rose-Hulman in goal, playing the entire 90 minutes in the shutout win.
Rose-Hulman will return home to take on the St. Mary-of-the-Woods Pomeroys on Tuesday, September 29, at 7 PM.
